Chesham, September 21st 2024

We were very lucky with the weather at the Peace in the Park event on Saturday 21st September in Lowndes Park in Chesham. Peace in the Park is an inclusive annual celebration of our community which enables community groups to share their work. There are many food stalls, fun activities for all and live music. This year was the fifth year that Chesham hosted this highly popular event led by local councillor, Parveiz Aslam MBE.

Our stall supported our Ukrainian and Syrian friends who baked and sold some delicious pastries and cakes from their home cuisines. We also invited children to come paint wooden bird houses at our stall. They were then able to take home and hang in their own gardens.

We were also able to talk to Peace in the Park visitors about our charity’s work and promote our next event which is film night on 21st November. The showing will be at the Beacon School in Amersham and tickets will include a snack and a drink.

We are always looking for volunteers to help us at our events and in our work.
